A child has died from measles for the first time in Texas.
A child who contracted measles has died, Texas media reports. The case has been classified by the Health Department as the first case in a decade. In a statement from the Texas Health Department, it is noted that the child was unvaccinated and passed away in a children’s hospital. Medical professionals are justifying the situation by citing a large influx of children. The death occurred in the fourth week of the illness. Journalists have published information from a cabinet meeting where vaccination opponent Robert F. Kennedy Jr. stated that the measles outbreak in Texas has claimed the lives of two people, but he was corrected – it was one. Medical statistics have recorded 124 cases of measles in Texas since the beginning of February, with only five being vaccinated. Last Tuesday, medical professionals reported nine new cases near the Texas border. Currently, the outbreak has affected 10 counties.
