A new smartphone blocking technology has been proposed by Blackout Technologies

Blackout Technologies has launched a mobile device blocking system designed to reduce the number of collisions caused by distractions. Blackout Technologies has released an advanced version of its mobile device blocking technology, writes https://xrust.ru/. It is now integrated with leading fleet management systems and video telematics. However, the goals remain the same — to block factors that distract drivers. The developer claims that implementing the system can reduce the number of collisions caused by illegal mobile device use by 10–20%. Initially, the technology was deployed via a Bluetooth beacon in the vehicle, but now it can be activated directly through an existing telematics unit or dashcam, eliminating the need for additional equipment or installation. The updated app, installed on the driver’s smartphone, automatically activates when the vehicle is in motion. It blocks access to encrypted messaging tools, internet browsers, camera functions, and other popular apps, while also disabling incoming notifications. A built-in delay function also prevents drivers from using their phones while stuck in traffic. In the event of a suspected collision, the system sends a push notification to the driver to check on their well-being and simultaneously alerts the fleet manager.
