Initially, the technology was deployed via a Bluetooth beacon in the vehicle, but now it can be activated directly through an existing telematics unit or dashcam, eliminating the need for additional equipment or installation. The updated app, installed on the driver’s smartphone, automatically activates when the vehicle is in motion. It blocks access to encrypted messaging tools, internet browsers, camera functions, and other popular apps, while also disabling incoming notifications. A built-in delay function also prevents drivers from using their phones while stuck in traffic. In the event of a suspected collision, the system sends a push notification to the driver to check on their well-being and simultaneously alerts the fleet manager.
