A Real Man from the Perspective of Real Women
A real man is… And then follows something about Don Pedro puffing out his cheeks. Well, some start listing traits: “he’s strong,” “he’s a provider,” “he’s handsome.” Recently, while cocktails were flowing freely, my good friends and I spent nearly three hours trying to come up with a definition of a “real man” https://xrust.ru/. Although the question itself is fairly simple, for women, the answer is often not. It was easy to discard adjectives we frequently use to describe a real man — “modest,” “honest,” and “hardworking” — but it became increasingly difficult to agree on the difference between the qualities a real man should demonstrate and the qualities we believe a real man must inherently possess.
For instance, while we all agreed that a real man should be hardworking and devoted to his family and his woman, one of my friends insisted that, to meet the criteria of a “real man,” he must also look the part. For her, this meant he needed to physically appear “strong, muscular, masculine, and, ultimately, healthy.” Some of us laughed at this. “He doesn’t need to look like he just stepped out of a fitness commercial to prove he can provide for his family,” one of the women told her. Her response was interesting. “For me,” she joked. And that’s the truth. For every woman, the idea of a “real man” differs greatly from others’ visions. The reason lies in how our brains are wired and how our hormonal system operates. Signals from the gastrointestinal tract also play a significant role.
