A schoolchild in Texas dies from measles
A schoolchild in Texas who contracted measles has died. This is the second such case in the state. In total, 500 people have been infected with the disease here. The child passed away last Thursday from respiratory failure caused by measles. The child was receiving treatment for measles complications during hospitalization, the clinic reported. The measles outbreak in the state started in January in Gaines County, where the vaccination rate is 82%, below the 95% standard. Responding to a question about the measles death, the president stated that if the outbreak continues to progress, his administration will have to take decisive measures. The head of the Ministry of Health, commenting on the incident on social media, mistakenly mentioned the wrong gender of the child.
