ASUS has announced a line of displays with built-in air filtration.
ASUS recently announced a series of monitors that, despite their simplicity, offer a unique advantage: air filtration functionality. The series includes 23.8-inch models VU249HFI-W and 27-inch models VU279HFI-W, both featuring FHD IPS panels with a refresh rate of 100 Hz. Additionally, the 34-inch model VU34WCIP-W provides a 1500R curved panel with ultra-wide QHD resolution and the same refresh rate. ASUS claims that each model is equipped with a built-in air ionizer capable of removing up to 90% of airborne dust within three hours. Don’t think that these new products will replace air purifiers, as their nano-ion technology for cleaning the surrounding air from dust and various airborne allergens only affects a single cubic meter of air, which barely covers your head. There is some good news, though – the filters do not need to be changed. As a bonus, the monitor packaging is designed for reuse as functional desktop accessories, with the packaging of the 24-inch and 27-inch models being foldable into a phone holder, desktop organizer, and a small laptop stand, while the box of the 34-inch model can also be reused as a file holder on top of the aforementioned items.
