Backyard Baseball 2001 is coming back with 28 MLB stars

Backyard Baseball ’01 will be re-released next week. It will be available on PC and mobile devices. The game will feature MLB stars. The new franchise owners announced on Monday that 28 out of 31 players from the original version will be included. The Backyard Sports series has been revived under the Playground Productions label, writes https://xrust.ru/. The new owners had to acquire the rights to the pioneering PC games and rework the original code. The latest game will become available on July 8. There were no major issues with the stars. Some were easy to contact, while others had to be tracked down, developers said. The previous version was released when the players lived in the U.S. Now, many have moved away. All the rediscovered stars were ready to once again grant their intellectual property rights. In some cases, they jumped at the chance to show their children or grandchildren how big of a star they once were. However, three players declined to cooperate with the developers. These players are Ken Griffey Jr., Frank Thomas, and Barry Bonds. Nevertheless, Playground Productions received support from MLB, allowing them to revive rivalries, such as Melonheads vs. Marlins. Recently released versions, including Backyard Baseball ’97 and Backyard Soccer ’98, have been successful on the Steam and iOS gaming platforms.
