Backyard Baseball 2001 returns with 28 MLB stars

Backyard Baseball ’01 will be re-released next week. It will be available on PC and mobile devices. The game will feature MLB stars. The new franchise owners announced on Monday that 28 out of the 31 players who appeared in the original version will be included. The Backyard Sports series has been revived under the Playground Productions label, reports https://xrust.ru/. The new owner had to acquire the rights to the groundbreaking PC games and rework the original code. The newest game will be available starting July 8. There were no issues with the stars. Some were easy to contact, while others had to be tracked down, the developers stated. The previous version was released when the players were living in the U.S. Now, many have moved away. All of the rediscovered stars were willing to once again grant their intellectual property rights. In some cases, they jumped at the chance to show their kids or grandchildren just how big of a star they once were. However, three players declined to collaborate with the developers. These were Ken Griffey Jr., Frank Thomas, and Barry Bonds. Despite this, Playground Productions received support from MLB, which allowed them to revive rivalries such as Melonheads vs. Marlins. Recently released versions, including Backyard Baseball ’97 and Backyard Soccer ’98, have been successful on gaming platforms like Steam and iOS.
