Coach of the Suns, Mike Budenholzer, Turned Out to Be a Bad Guy
The Phoenix Suns’ coach was fired this past Monday. He turned out to be a bad guy. Mike Budenholzer’s team finished the season with a 36-46 record. The coach was dismissed amidst the team’s lamentations on social media: our goal is to maintain a high level of competition; this season we did not meet expectations; fans deserve better; changes are necessary. The Suns ended the season in 11th place in the Western Conference, three games short of the play-in tournament. This was Budenholzer’s only season as head coach. He was hired to replace Frank Vogel, who was also fired after just one season the previous year. The club’s management believed Budenholzer was the right coach. He is an Arizona native who won the 2021 NBA title with the Milwaukee Bucks. He was given a five-year, $50 million contract. However, the coach failed to connect with the players.
