Google continues to work on new features for Gemini

Google plans to integrate GitHub and Veo 2 for Gemini users. Gemini will also be integrated with GitHub. In addition to the existing feature called Code Folder — where users can upload the contents of a local folder to Gemini — Google will soon enable GitHub account integration. Users will be able to select a specific repository to work with Gemini. A similar feature already exists in Claude, and it seems that Google is gradually entering this niche. Upon request, Google will prompt users to set up a specific integration in their GitHub account or repository. Once set up, Gemini will be able to access its content. Users will still maintain control and will be able to choose which repositories to connect to. One of the notable limitations is that users will only be able to upload one GitHub repository or one local folder to Gemini at a time. This limitation is somewhat expected, likely due to performance and privacy considerations. Given that the Cloud Next event is scheduled for next week, it is quite likely that this feature could be released soon.
