Hallmark Christmas movie begins filming at Synthetic Cinema International
The company Synthetic Cinema started filming a Christmas movie last Monday. The film is called Hallmark. The Connecticut-based company is filming “Newport Christmas” in Erie, Buffalo, and Niagara counties in New York State. Journalists have already spotted the Synthetic Cinema crew near Buffalo, where the InnBuffalo hotel, decorated for Christmas, caught their attention. Local newspapers feature ads looking for extras. They are being offered roles as guests, dancers, men in tuxedos, women in corsets, tourists, and other characters. It is worth noting that Synthetic Cinema was co-founded by film producer Andrew Gernhard. This film company shoots movies worldwide, including in Connecticut. Last summer, Gernhard and Synthetic Cinema filmed scenes for one of Hallmark’s holiday movies on the campus of New London College in Connecticut.
