**Helldivers 2 Received the Heart of Democracy Update**
Helldivers 2 hit the pages of the gaming press just yesterday. The reason was an announcement from the developer, Arrowhead Game Studios, revealing that the game’s update will be released on May 20th. The name of the update is as relevant as ever – *Heart of Democracy*. In the trailer dedicated to this “heart,” a narrator tells the story of an invasion of robotic alien creatures. These beings have devastated a city. The trailer also showcased players destroying alien creatures to save the world, humanity, and democracy. The main objective is to fight the aliens, known as Squids, who have taken over the world, using a variety of weapons and tools.
The developers recently published information about the new update and shared more details about what it will include. The story is as follows:
“Despite the valiant efforts of our Helldivers to push back the fleet, the Illuminate have reached Super-Earth. Now they are swarming our cities, terrorizing citizens, and destroying our infrastructure. It’s time to rise up, take up arms, and fight for the precious foundations and soil of Democracy. Helldivers, return to our planet and defend what is rightfully ours.”
Players will have access to a variety of weapons to eliminate the Squids, including planetary defense cannons, to gain a strategic advantage against the enemy. Players will also be able to contact SEAF for reinforcements. Small squads will engage enemies independently or can be ordered to follow Helldivers, providing temporary reinforcements as players advance toward their objectives.
