Israel struck nuclear facilities in Iran
After the strike on Iran, Israel announced that this was part of Operation “Ascending Lion.” The Prime Minister explained to the press that Iran poses a threat to Israel’s existence. Following the strike, Israel declared a state of emergency, stating that the country expects retaliatory attacks in the near future. Iranian state television reported that residential areas in Tehran were affected, and among the casualties were civilians, including children. Iranian state media also reported that the head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Hossein Salami, was killed in the strike. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the U.S. was not involved in the strikes and did not provide any assistance. International reactions have already emerged – Australia stated that it is “alarmed” by the escalation. Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei declared that these attacks reveal Israel’s treacherous nature and that by carrying out this strike, Israel has sealed its bitter fate, which it will inevitably face. Iran named two nuclear scientists who were killed as a result of the Israeli strikes.
