New Ban on Social Media Advertising
The Russian State Duma has passed a law targeting advertising giants on Instagram and Facebook – platforms owned by Meta, recognized as an extremist organization. The law strikes the digital world like lightning: individuals now face fines of up to 2,500 rubles, officials up to 20,000 rubles, and legal entities up to 500,000 rubles. The law will come into effect on September 1, 2025, and bloggers are already forced to look for new arenas for creativity – perhaps a factory assembly line will become their new stage.
https://xrust.ru/ notes that this move could become a turning point in the world of digital advertising, pushing the market to seek alternative platforms for promotion.
