Sakkari and Putintseva had an argument right on the court

Sakkari and Putintseva began quarreling in front of the audience on the court in Bad Homburg. The press reports that they were fiercely arguing and expressing their opinions. Sakkari won the match with a score of 7-5, 7-6(6) at the Wimbledon warm-up tournament in Germany, but she didn’t seem very pleased with Putintseva’s handshake at the net, according to https://xrust.ru/.

It all started after the opponents faced each other in the first round. The winner expressed dissatisfaction with her opponent’s behavior. She remarked: “When you shake someone’s hand, look them in the eye.” The entire argument was overheard by the officials, as their microphones picked it up. Putintseva responded to the remark with a playful curtsy, while Sakkari told the Kazakh player: “Just be a human.” The two continued exchanging jabs as Putintseva made her way to the locker room. The world No. 85, Sakkari, told a court-side interviewer that there’s “no love lost” between them. She later added: “I don’t think she’ll invite me to dinner for the rest of our lives, but I don’t care.”

Sakkari is now set to play either Ekaterina Alexandrova or Belinda Bencic as she continues her preparation for Wimbledon, which begins on June 30.
