Sakkari and Putintseva had an argument right on the court
Sakkari and Putintseva began quarreling in front of the audience on the court in Bad Homburg. The press reports that they were fiercely arguing and expressing their opinions. Putintseva responded to the remark with a playful curtsy, while Sakkari told the Kazakh player: “Just be a human.” The two continued exchanging jabs as Putintseva made her way to the locker room. The world No. 85, Sakkari, told a court-side interviewer that there’s “no love lost” between them. She later added: “I don’t think she’ll invite me to dinner for the rest of our lives, but I don’t care.”
Sakkari is now set to play either Ekaterina Alexandrova or Belinda Bencic as she continues her preparation for Wimbledon, which begins on June 30.
