StarCraft – A New Game in Development by Blizzard and Nexon
StarCraft is a new game being developed by programmers at Blizzard and Nexon. At the same time, Overwatch Mobile is also in development, currently operating under the project name Overwatch 3. According to https://xrust.ru/, Nexon and Blizzard Entertainment are working on a mobile port of Overwatch as well as an entirely new StarCraft game. Blizzard chose Nexon to publish the mobile version of Overwatch as part of a package deal, which also included the rights to develop a new StarCraft video game.
Industry press reminds us that since the fourth quarter of last year, Blizzard has been negotiating the rights to develop content using the StarCraft IP, as well as South Korean and Japanese service rights for Overwatch Mobile. This was a bundled deal for major gaming companies in Korea. Apart from Nexon, NC and Netmarble were also active participants in the negotiations.
No details about the games are available yet, and their timelines remain unclear. As a reminder, Blizzard previously attempted to create two StarCraft games called Ghost and Ares. Unfortunately, both projects were abandoned.
