Testing of a new satellite communication technology has begun by T-Mobile and Starlink.
The cellular service test was launched by T-Mobile last Sunday. The Starlink technology from SpaceX is being used. The plan aims to provide complete coverage across the United States. Beta testing will be free until July, after which it will be included in T-Mobile’s premium Go5G Next plan at no additional charge. The service will be available for an additional $15 per month added to all other plans following its commercial launch this summer. This move could mark a significant shift in mobile communications, bridging the gap between traditional cellular networks and satellite technologies to ensure seamless coverage anywhere on Earth. The company announced during the Super Bowl game on Sunday that the beta version will offer SMS via satellite, with voice and data features to be added later.
