The BlackWidow V4 75% keyboard is now offered in a barebones configuration.
The BlackWidow V4 75% keyboard, released by Razer earlier in 2023, now seems to be a thing of the past. Under the same name, a barebones version of the keyboard is now being offered. As a reminder, the BlackWidow V4 75%, released in 2023, had a key feature: it allowed hot-swapping of switches and keycaps according to your personal preference. For nearly two years since its launch, the brand only offered a fully assembled version, but now things are changing if you’re looking to bring in your own vision. Razer now offers the BlackWidow V4 75% keyboard in a barebones configuration.
Just like the original BlackWidow V4 75%, the barebones version retains the same build but lacks pre-installed switches and keycaps (as well as wrist rests). It still supports both 3-pin and 5-pin mechanical switches and includes features like dual-layer dampening foam, pre-lubed stabilizers, an FR4 plate, and pre-applied modding tape to achieve the satisfying “thocky” sound that most keyboard enthusiasts crave. The keyboard still uses Razer’s HyperPolling 8000 Hz technology for minimal input lag, along with per-key RGB lighting and dual-side illumination thanks to Razer Chroma RGB. Media controls also remain if you enjoyed that feature on the fully assembled model.
If you prefer Razer components on your keyboard, you can separately purchase Razer Gen-3 mechanical switches in clicky green, linear yellow, or tactile orange variants. Additional Razer Phantom keycap upgrade kits are also available in black and white as separate purchases if you want to use your own switches while maintaining Razer’s aesthetic.
