The guy from Inter has outgrown the role of a player – now he’s a manager.

The guy from Inter Milan, Cristian Chivu, is now a manager. He replaced Simone Inzaghi, the former coach, who left the club after the team’s 5:0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final. The former player signed a two-year contract. Romanian Chivu, who left Parma less than four months after his appointment, played as a defender for Inter for seven years, reports https://xrust.ru/. He was part of José Mourinho’s team that won the treble in 2010 before ending his playing career at the Serie A club in 2014. In February 2025, Cristian got his first chance to manage Parma’s senior team… He steered the Emilians to safety, with his team earning 16 points in 13 matches, according to Inter. Now, Cristian Chivu begins the third chapter of his story with the Nerazzurri. And he does so guided by the values he has always upheld: dedication, sacrifice, and relentless work ethic.

Chivu’s second career chapter at Inter began in 2018 when he returned, climbed the ranks to become the youth team coach, and won the championship title in his first season in charge. While Chivu lacks the experience that Inzaghi brought to the role, the 44-year-old immediately made an impact at Parma, solidifying a defense that had been leaking goals: his team conceded only 13 goals compared to 27 in the previous 13 games.
