The next stage in the development of programming was the creation of ARPANET in the late 1960s. This innovation laid the groundwork for the modern Internet. ARPANET was initially a project commissioned by the military. Later, it was adopted by scientists and engineers. The protocols developed at that time, such as TCP/IP, enabled the global connectivity we rely on today.
Another significant milestone in the history of programming was the creation of the first computer virus. It was called “Creeper” and was written in the early 1970s by Bob Thomas.
